GROUP PROJECTS

Upon arrival, students will spend time discussing the specific details of the community service projects that have been arranged for them. The students will be engaged in one or more projects during their trip such as:

  •  Posting and painting of signage throughout the community.
  •  Mural painting.
  • Providing English-language tutoring or workshops to local elementary and high school students.
  • Helping to plant a community vegetable garden.
  • Organizing and running a day-camp for local children.
  • Constructing a traditional palm-roofed building.

  • Planting trees to aid in reforestation of the local watershed

  • Volunteering at the local museum.

  • Helping repaint Boruca’s elementary school.
  • Participating in community clean-up and trash collection.
  • Presenting an evening talent show to benefit a local youth group.
